Discover Europe
For fourteen years students from the whole Europe have had a chance to shine in the world of photography. Thanks to the Discover Europe contest the photographic vision of Europe is evaluated by professionals. It is uniqueness and freshness that count in the look at the Old Continent. The idea of the competition is to capture the contemporary countenance seen with eyes of its young inhabitants. It is the photography with its broad spectrum of possibilities of conveying a message that allows to picture and understand problems that intrigue the young Europeans.
The goal of the competition organiser – Erasmus Student Network – is to create a unity between separate communities that due to the project gain a possibility of exchanging their experiences, inspirations and opinions.
The fourteenth edition of Discover Europe held in March this year proved that young Europeans with great pride can represent places where they come from. The participants, as usual, did not disappoint. The issues shown in the photos were really diverse –from the thought provoking topic of refugees to a smile bringing photo collections of student travels. The jury were greatly impressed by the extraordinary pictures and high level of the works. The finalists were awarded during The Great Finale Gala which took place on May the 13th in the Dom Technika NOT in Warsaw. The winners won trips funded by Student Travel, professional photography books as well as phones and laptops funded by the ASUS company.
The upcoming fifteenth edition in March 2017 will again connect young enthusiasts of photography from the entire continent. The team consisting of 40 members is already working on repeating the success of previous years.
